The Colombo High Court has ordered that former Member of Parliament Hirunika Premachandra, who has been sentenced to three years imprisonment with hard labour, be released on bail.
Accordingly, it is stated that this order has been given after considering the bail request submitted by Hirunika Premachandra.
On December 21, 2015, Hirunika Premachandra, who was found guilty of 18 charges including abducting Amila Priyanka, who was working at a shop in Dematagoda area in a black Defender car, was wrongly imprisoned and assaulted, was sentenced by the Colombo High Court to three years' imprisonment with hard labour.
