The Department of Meteorology says that some rains may occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa, South and North-West provinces and Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.
The department stated that rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Badulla, Ampara and Batticaloa districts during the evening or night.
In North, North Central and North West Provinces, and in Hambantota and Trincomalee Districts, the winds are blowing from time to time per km. Strong winds of 30-40 may occur.
The Department of Meteorology urges the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
