A meeting between Comrade Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the leader of National People's Force, who is currently on a visit to Japan, and Mr. TSUGE Yoshifumi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Japan, took place at the Ministry this afternoon (22).
The current economic and political situation in Sri Lanka, the long-term friendship between the two countries and the next step in diplomatic and economic relations were discussed here and special attention was paid to the upcoming presidential election. The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs had arranged to congratulate Comrade Anura Kumara Dissanayake on his visit to Japan.
A group of officers including Mr. Tsutsumi Taro, Director of Southwest Asian Division of the Department of Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs, and Mr. IWASE Kiichiro, Deputy Director of that division, and several members of the Japan Committee of the National People's Force were present for this discussion.
