An elephant census on August 19 and 20

The Wildlife Department has decided to conduct a census of elephants spreading across the country.


 Accordingly, the department stated that it will be done on August 19 and 20.


 It is stated that 4500 multi-tasking officers attached to the Wildlife Department have been deployed for that purpose.


 The last census of wild elephants in the country was conducted in 2011 and according to that report, the number of wild elephants in the country was 5878.
