Speaker Mr,Mahinda Yapa stated that even the President cannot intervene in the issue of the Inspector General of Police

 

Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena says that there is a separate introduction in the constitution regarding the officers appointed on the basis of the approval of the Constituent Assembly and the consent of the Parliament.

 Speaking in Parliament today (26), the Speaker mentioned that if their position is vacated, there is a special program for that.

 The speaker further stated that if not, the Supreme Court should go to the Supreme Court and get a decision there, and at this time the President is unable to make a decision on this issue.
