As of July 15 this year, 1,095,675 foreign tourists have come to Sri Lanka, says Somaratne Vidanapathirana, Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Lands.
He points out that there is a resurgence in the arrival of foreign tourists to Sri Lanka, and if this situation continues, it is possible to surpass the level of 2018, which recorded the peak of tourism in Sri Lanka after the war.

The secretary also mentions that the tourism industry had faced a severe setback due to the Easter attack, the COVID-19 epidemic and the subsequent economic crisis, but despite these challenges, the tourism sector has now shown signs of awakening.
