Voting facilities for the visually impaired and hearing impaired community for this election


 For the first time, the Election Commission has decided to facilitate voting for the visually impaired and hearing impaired community in this presidential election.


 According to that, a special system will be implemented so that the visually impaired community can identify the signs of the ballot paper using Braille, its chairman R.M.A.L.  Ratnayake mentioned.mr


 Also, it is mentioned that facilities have been provided to inform the hearing-impaired community about the ballot paper in sign language, several pilot projects have been implemented in several places in the past, and based on its success, 


 The chairman of the Election Commission further stated that the visually impaired and hearing impaired persons who cast their votes in each polling station will be identified through the village officers and they will be provided with the necessary facilities.
