Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna's politburo held yesterday (29) is a drama, its Member of Parliament State Minister Pramita Bandara Tennakoon says.
He said while attending a press conference held today (30) that he does not believe that the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna has a democratic decision-making structure, and yesterday's decision was a decision made inside the house first by the Politburo.
The State Minister stated that when his group discussed with the party leader, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa earlier, he was of the position that he would not present a separate candidate from the party.
He also mentioned that there are problems with the composition of the political committee that was held yesterday, and only 18 of the 100-member party had parliamentary representation, and he has no understanding of the other former members.
Accordingly, State Minister Pramitha Bandara Thennakoon further stated that the decision taken yesterday by the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Political Board can be compared to the decision taken to attack the struggle by bringing people to Colombo on May 9, 2022.
