The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka has taken steps to receive complaints regarding violations of election laws by government officials including the police during the presidential election period.
Nimal Punchihewa, commissioner and lawyer of the said commission, states that this step has been taken in order to conduct a free and fair election.
