Along with the historic Senkadagala Esala Perahera, the ritual of offering honey by the Dambana tribes has taken place at the Sri Dalada Palace in Kandy.
On the first Randoli day of the Esala Perahera festival, offering honey has been done since ancient times and it is said that the adivasis use the top fruit of the honey harvested from the forest.
Mr. Pradip Nilanga Dela of Diyawadana Nilame, Kandy Sri Dalada Maliga, welcomed the group of fifty people led by the tribal leader and honey was offered for the tooth relics.
