The Department of Meteorology says that occasional rain or thundershowers will occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa, South and North-West provinces and Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.
Some areas of Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts may experience heavy rains of more than 75 mm, while the rest of the island may experience scattered showers or thunderstorms during the evening or night.
In the western slopes of the Central Highlands and in the North, North Central and North Western Provinces and in the Hambantota District, the winds are blowing from time to time per km. Strong winds of 30-40 may occur.
The Department of Meteorology informs the people to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers
caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunder showers.
