The Department of Meteorology says that there may be several periods of rain in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.
Badulla, Ampara and Batticaloa districts may experience rain or thundershowers at few places during evening or night.
In the western slopes of the Central Highlands and in the North, North Central and North Western Provinces and Trincomalee, Monaragala and Hambantota districts, the winds are blowing at times per km. There is a possibility of gusts of around 50.
In the rest of the island, the winds are blowing from time to time. The Department of Meteorology further states that strong winds of around (30-40) are possible.
