The Department of Meteorology says that a temporary increase in the current rain conditions in the southwestern parts of the island is expected today and tomorrow.
The Department of Meteorology stated that occasional rain or thundershowers may occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
In some areas in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts, mm. Heavy rains above 100 are possible and there is a possibility of scattered showers or thunderstorms in the evening or night in Eastern and Uva provinces.
The Department of Meteorology urges the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
