The village officials union says that the village officials have decided to leave their duties.
Accordingly, Nandana Ranasinghe, co-chairman of the Grama Niladhari Vocational Union Alliance, said that today (12) and tomorrow (13) they will quit their jobs.
It is further stated that this protest is being held in protest against the non-incorporation of the proposals given by the village officials' professional associations into the service constitution of village officials.
