The Department of Meteorology states that occasional rain or thundershowers will occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and in Matara and Galle, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.
Some areas in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts received mm. About 75 percent of rainfall is possible.
Eastern and Uva provinces may experience rain or thundershowers at few places during evening or night.
Southern coastal areas may also experience rain during the morning.
In the western slopes of the Central Highlands and in the North, North Central and North Western Provinces, Hambantota and Trincomalee districts, the wind speed is at times per kmph. The Department of Meteorology states that strong winds of 40-50 are possible.
The Department of Meteorology urges the people to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
