Zelenskiy Appeals for 'American Resolve' in High-Stakes Fourth of July Call with Donald Trump

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy held a crucial Independence Day phone call with US President Donald Trump, discussing frontline realities and urging strong American resolve to end the four-year war.

On the historic occasion of the US Fourth of July holiday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy reached out to US President Donald Trump for a pivotal telephonic conversation. During the discussion, Zelenskiy strongly emphasized that "American resolve" remains the defining factor in bringing a definitive end to the ongoing conflict with Russia, which has now dragged on for over four years.

Describing the exchange as "very good," the Ukrainian leader revealed that the two statesmen dove deep into the current situation developing across the active front lines. Zelenskiy expressed high optimism regarding a diplomatic breakthrough, noting, "There is a real prospect to end this war and American resolve will have a crucial meaning."

The diplomatic momentum is set to continue almost immediately. Both Zelenskiy and Trump have formally agreed to advance their high-level talks face-to-face at the upcoming NATO summit scheduled to take place in Turkey next week.

Throughout the dialogue, President Zelenskiy extended his profound gratitude to the United States for its unwavering assistance since the inception of the war. He specifically paid tribute to the "American hearts" who continue to champion global freedom and stand in solidarity with Ukraine’s sovereign future.

In a breathtaking display of international gratitude, Kyiv’s iconic Motherland Monument was transformed. The massive 62-meter (203-foot) steel statue of a female warrior overlooking the Dnipro River was brilliantly illuminated in the vibrant red, white, and blue colors of the American flag as night fell over the capital.
