A Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Transport and Highways, the Urban Development Authority and the Central Cultural Fund has been signed under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena regarding the tourism management project in the area around Ella Arukku Navaya Palama.
It is stated that an ambulance service is going to be started here for the first time in Sri Lanka in connection with a national heritage site.
As the second step of this project, it has been proposed to start a tourism management project around the Demodara railway station.
