The petition filed by former Minister of State Diana Gamage demanding an order to annul the decision taken by the Samagi Jana Balawega to lose her position as a Member of Parliament has been withdrawn today 17 from the Supreme Court.
When the petition was called today, the lawyers representing Diana Gamage stated that there is no need to continue the petition.
Accordingly, the lawyers asked the court to allow it to be withdrawn and accordingly the Supreme Court has given permission to withdraw the relevant petition.
