Sabaragamuwa Province, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya Districts will experience occasional rains, and the Western and North Western Provinces, Galle and Matara Districts may experience several periods of rain, the Department of Meteorology states.
In the western slopes of the Central Hills and in the North, North Central and North Western Provinces, Trincomalee, Moneragala and Hambantota Districts, windy at times per km. Gusts of 50-55 km/h are possible, and occasional gusts in other areas. Strong winds of 30-40 may occur.
Also, the Department of Meteorology has issued a red warning warning that the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal may be very rough due to the active Southwest Monsoon.
It states that strong winds of 70-80 kilometers per hour can prevail in the respective sea areas and the sea areas can be very rough.
Due to this, the department informs the fishing and marine community that the personnel engaged in fishing and navigation activities in the relevant area should immediately come to the land or a safe place and not to sail in that sea area until further notice.
