The government has proposed to the International Monetary Fund to revise the personal income tax level from 500,000 rupees to 720,000 rupees in order to provide relief to middle-level tax payers affected by the tax reforms carried out last season.

The Presidential Media Division stated that the proposal was made due to the strong performance shown by the tax revenue this year.

The International Monetary Fund has submitted amendments to the proposal, and it includes giving more relief to the people belonging to the lower tax levels, giving similar relief to the middle level, and giving slightly less relief to the high income earners, as well as keeping the essence of this proposal unchanged.  Mentioned
