The Sri Lanka Livestock Producers' Association says that the government's decision to import eggs is due to the government's failure to prepare a system to regulate the price of agricultural products.
Ajith Gunasekara, president of the association, states that the local egg industry will be destroyed by importing eggs without preparing proper procedures.
He further mentioned that there is a possibility of providing eggs and poultry without shortage for the coming festive season.
