The Department of Meteorology states that some light rains may occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and in Matara and Galle districts.
The Department of Meteorology stated that in Uva Province, Ampara and Batticaloa Districts, rain or thundershowers may occur in a few places in the evening or at night, while in other areas there may be mainly rainless weather conditions.
The wind speed in the North, North Central and North West provinces, Trincomalee and Hambantota districts is at times per km. The Department of Meteorology states that strong winds of around 30-40 are possible.
The Department of Meteorology urges the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms
