The Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel has issued a security advisory for Sri Lankans working in Israel, and it is reported that they are requested to give priority to their security in the coming days as conflicts in the Middle East region may escalate.
Sri Lankan Ambassador to Israel Mr. Nimal Bandara pointed out the importance of constant vigilance and advised Sri Lankans to remain at their workplaces unless absolutely necessary.
In case of emergencies, he advised to use safety booths at his workplaces and to store food and medicine needed for a few days.
The embassy is reported to have stated that the Israeli government has prepared hospitals and ambulance services to respond to any emergency.
It is reported that Ambassador Bandara asked the relatives of Sri Lankans in Israel not to create unnecessary fear as he maintains close relations with Sri Lankans in Israel.
