The Department of Meteorology says that occasional rain or thundershowers may occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
The department stated that in the Eastern and Uva provinces and in Matale, Polonnaruwa and Mullaitivu districts there may be scattered showers or thunderstorms in the evening or at night.
The Department of Meteorology urges the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
