The Department of Meteorology says that some light rains may occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
The department stated that rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the evening or night in Eastern and Uva provinces and Polonnaruwa district.
In the western slopes of the Central Highlands and in the North, North Central and North Western Provinces, and Hambantota District, the wind is blowing at times per km. Strong winds of around (30-40) are possible.
The Department of Meteorology urges the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
