The Parliament has informed the Election Commission that two Members of Parliament are vacant.

 It is stated that due to the abolition of the parliamentary seats of Galle District Member of Parliament Manusha Nanayakkara, who represented the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, and Hareen Fernando, member of the National List of the same party, there has been a vacancy in two seats in the Ninth Parliament since last 09th.

 In accordance with Section 64 (1) and 64 (5) of the Parliamentary Elections Act No. 1 of 1981, the Acting General Secretary of the Parliament, Waminda Kularatne, has given this notification to the Chairman of the Election Commission.
