Earlier it was decided to give a subsidy of 2000 rupees to encourage the growers to apply fertilizer to tea cultivation, but since that amount is not enough to increase the production of tea, the Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industries Mahinda Amaraweera has instructed the Secretary of the Ministry to take steps to increase the subsidy to 4000 rupees. happening
02 billion rupees will be spent for this subsidy and it is planned to provide that amount through the funds of the Ceylon Tea Board.
